Namibian mining sector sees increased exploration and production activity

Mining companies are advancing significant mineral projects in Namibia. Golden Deeps Limited has committed approximately N$95 million to exploration activities in the Otavi Mountain Land through June 2031. The company’s efforts are focused on the Graceland Prospect, where it has identified high-grade mineralization including copper, silver, zinc, lead, germanium, and antimony. Recent rock-chip sampling at the site yielded grades of up to 47.3% copper and 7,792 grams per tonne of silver.

Separately, Bezant Resources Plc is nearing production at its Hope and Gorob copper-gold project. The company has established a 10,000-tonne stockpile of run-of-mine ore and completed upgrades to the Tsoaxaub Metals Processing Plant. Bezant expects to produce its first copper concentrate in early October, with the first shipment anticipated in early November. To support operations, the company secured a US$7 million prepayment facility and offtake agreement with Hartree Metals, which will purchase 100% of the project's copper concentrate.
