MTC and MVA Fund invest N$3.2 million in Erongo schools

MTC Namibia and the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund have invested N$3.2 million to upgrade school infrastructure in the Erongo Region. Through the MTC Rural Schools Project, three schools—Okongue Primary School in the Daures Constituency, JP Brandt Primary School in Utuseb, and !Oe #Gab Primary School in Tubusis—received new classroom blocks, storerooms, and renovations to existing structures.

Each of the three schools received a block containing two classrooms and a storeroom. The MVA Fund contributed N$1 million toward the project. To date, the partnership between MTC and the MVA Fund has resulted in the construction of 61 classrooms across Namibia.

During the official handover at Okongue Primary School, Erongo Governor Nathalia /Goagoses emphasized that education is a “shared responsibility” and encouraged other private sector entities to invest in similar initiatives to address the national classroom shortfall. MTC’s Tim Ekandjo also called for increased corporate partnerships to help bridge the country's infrastructure gap.
