Namibia’s Nandi‑Ndaitwah expands trade with China, South Africa

Namibia President Netumbo Nandi‑Ndaitwah led a state visit to China, culminating in eight bilateral agreements covering education, agriculture, trade, health and investment. The deals include scholarships for Namibian students, zero‑tariff treatment for Namibian exports such as table grapes, and cooperation on technical and vocational training and pharmaceutical production.

In Pretoria, President Cyril Ramaphosa and President Nandi‑Ndaitwah concluded the fourth South Africa‑Namibia Bi‑National Commission, reaffirming strategic cooperation in natural resources, mining, petroleum, trade and investment. The joint communiqué emphasized deeper economic integration, private‑sector partnerships and regional collaboration within SADC and the African Union.
