Namık Kemal University students develop autonomous vehicle ‘ŞAHİ’
Students from the Çorlu Engineering Faculty at Namık Kemal University have developed an autonomous vehicle named ‘ŞAHİ’ following three years of research and development. The vehicle is designed to operate without human intervention or a driver, making it suitable for use in industrial sectors, cargo, logistics, and transportation.
The project involved a multidisciplinary team of students from computer, electrical and electronics, and industrial engineering departments. The vehicle has already garnered attention at various organizations, including TEKNOFEST.
Prof. Dr. Lokman Hakan Tecer, Dean of the Çorlu Engineering Faculty, stated that work has already begun on the next version of the vehicle. He also noted that the faculty has been selected to establish a TÜBİTAK-supported National Technology Workshop, which is expected to facilitate higher-quality research and development for future projects.
