Namwon City launches resident-led health clubs

Namwon City is launching a resident-led health club initiative to encourage healthy lifestyle habits through community engagement. The program, managed by the Namwon-si Health Living Support Center, allows groups of five or more residents to form voluntary clubs focused on activities such as walking and exercise.

To support these groups, the center will provide various resources, including basic health management services like blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, InBody composition analysis, and health consultations for chronic disease prevention. Additionally, clubs will receive access to training venues and exercise equipment such as dumbbells, resistance bands, and step boxes. To maintain the program's focus on public health, groups organized for profit, religious, or political purposes, as well as those already receiving administrative support or led by paid instructors, are ineligible to participate.
