Namyangju to host Maseok Maetdol Moru Festival in Hwado-eup

Namyangju City will host the 4th 2026 Hwado-eup Urban Regeneration Maseok Maetdol Moru Festival on September 12 at the Maseok 5-day Market area. The event is designed to promote the history and culture of the Hwado-eup old downtown and showcase the achievements of the local urban regeneration new deal project.

Running from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the festival features five themed markets: information, direct sales, food, promotion/experience, and stage markets. The direct sales market will offer local agricultural products, while the food market will feature dishes from local merchants.

A special walking program will lead participants on a 2.5km trek to the Heungwon trail, which houses the tomb of Heungseon Daewongun, the father of King Gojong of the Joseon Dynasty. The stage market will include a local singing contest and performances by various artists, including Seol Woon-do and Hong Kyung-min.
