Nana Eikura and Eiji Akaso lead upcoming suspense drama ‘Ani Imouto’

Solo visuals have been released for the lead cast of the upcoming Japanese suspense drama ‘Ani Imouto’, scheduled to premiere on TV Asahi on October 17, 2026. The series stars Nana Eikura and Eiji Akaso in dual lead roles.

The story follows two sets of siblings caught in a complex web of forbidden love and suspense. One narrative arc features Nao Haruki (Eikura), a doctor struggling with professional burnout, and Shuji Sonoda (Akaso), a man working at a shipyard to support his terminally ill sister, Eri (Yu Miyazaki). Their connection evolves from a misunderstanding into a forbidden romance. A second arc involves Nao’s brother, Ryosuke (Tatsuya Kimura), whose past troubles resurface after 18 years.

The drama is structured in two parts: a ‘Regional Chapter’ depicting their initial meeting and separation, and a ‘Tokyo Chapter’ set three years later, where the characters are haunted by secrets and past suspicions. The visuals, designed by art director Shintaro Kira, aim to convey the mysterious and heavy psychological states of the characters.
