Nana Nagao to perform classic Japanese literary readings in Tokyo
Actor Nana Nagao will perform “Reading Timeless Story Vol. 11” on November 14 at the Museum of Modern Japanese Literature in Tokyo. The event features live readings of classic Japanese literary works.
The performance includes Motojirō Kajii’s “Lemon,” Ryunosuke Akutagawa’s “Toshishun,” and Kyōka Izumi’s “Sanjakaku Shūi (Mokusei).” The program aims to bring new dimensions to these well-known texts through vocal expression, highlighting nuances in rhythm, breath, and atmosphere that may be overlooked when reading silently.
The venue is currently hosting exhibitions related to Chiyo Uno and Yasunari Kawabata.
