Nana Patekar film ‘The Confession of Mary’ to premiere at TIFF 2026

The film ‘The Confession of Mary’, starring Nana Patekar, is set to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2026). Directed by National Award winner Anant Narayan Mahadevan, the film is produced by Subhash Kale and Narendra Hiravat under Camera Tech Films Production and NH Studios.

The story is inspired by the notorious 1966 Madatharuvi murder case in Kerala, India. The plot investigates the sensational killing of Mariyakutty, a 43-year-old widow and mother of five, whose body was discovered near the Madatharuvi River in June 1966.

Nana Patekar portrays a priest in the film. The ensemble cast includes Ashish Vidyarthi, Adil Hussain, Gautam Rode, Joy Sengupta, and Pankhuri Awasthi. The film explores themes of faith, pressure, and the search for truth. An official release date is expected to be announced following the TIFF premiere.
