Nanafouè canton to host football tournament for peace and talent

A football tournament is set to launch in the Nanafouè canton of the Attiégouakro department on October 10, 2026. Organized by N'guessan Kouakou Blaise, the event aims to promote peace, social cohesion, and the identification of young athletic talent.

This upcoming event serves as a preparatory stage for an official first edition scheduled to begin in January 2027. At least 12 of the 29 villages in the canton have already committed to participating. The tournament is held under the patronage of Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Téné Birahima Ouattara, represented by Senator Traoré Bamoudien. The organizer has announced a first prize of at least one million CFA francs.
