Nancy Brilli denies political favoritism regarding Rai Radio 2 role

Actress Nancy Brilli has addressed controversies surrounding her role as co-host of ‘Un giorno da pecora’ on Rai Radio 2. She denied allegations that she secured the position through a recommendation from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, stating that she was informed the role was vacant during her interview.

Brilli also dismissed claims that Geppi Cucciari was politically purged from the broadcaster. She noted that Cucciari remains highly valued by the company, citing her ongoing work with Rai 3 and Rai Cinema as evidence.

Regarding her connection to Prime Minister Meloni, Brilli clarified that while they have exchanged messages of mutual respect, they have never met in person. She described their relationship as being ‘pen pals’ rather than close personal friends.
