Nancy Shukri launches leadership programme for Dayak women

Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri has launched the PERANTIS PTS 062 leadership development programme in Kuching, Sarawak. The initiative involves 43 Dayak women and grassroots leaders from various professional and community backgrounds, including teachers, nurses, government officers, and NGO representatives.

The programme, which runs from 25 September to 7 November, is structured into three phases: individual and grassroots leadership, governance and organisational leadership, and finally, community leadership and strategic networking. Participants will focus on practical skills such as decision-making, communication, conflict management, and resource mobilisation.

Programme director Dr Florince Christy stated that the initiative aims to build confidence and courage among Dayak women to participate in community leadership, politics, the corporate sector, and public service. As part of the training, participants are expected to develop a 90-Day Leadership Action Plan to apply their learning within their respective communities.
