Nande Chivela wins 2026 Nedbank Kapana Cook-Off

Nande Chivela has won the 2026 Nedbank Kapana Cook-Off, held at Ausspannplatz Park in Windhoek. Chivela emerged victorious from a field of ten finalists, securing a prize package designed to transition his cooking skills into a sustainable business.

The prize includes a fully furnished mobile food trailer valued at N$150,000, N$10,000 in a Nedbank account, and N$5,000 in ingredient vouchers from Bakpro. To support long-term operational success, Chivela will also receive a business training course through Agra ProVision to assist with revenue management and operational costs.

Nedbank Namibia officials noted that the competition aims to provide entrepreneurs with the essential equipment often lacking in startup phases. Past winners have successfully utilized the mobile trailers to expand their operations, with some hiring staff or opening additional food outlets.
