Nando Dalla Chiesa discusses mafia evolution in Lombardy

A presentation of the book ‘Mafia a Milano e in Lombardia’ was held on October 17, 2026, in the council chamber of Pioltello. The event, promoted by the municipality's Culture and Legality department, featured Professor Nando Dalla Chiesa, president of the Milan anti-mafia committee, alongside journalists Giampiero Rossi and Franco Stefanoni.

The discussion traced the 80-year evolution of organized crime in the Lombardy region. It highlighted how criminal organizations moved from early signs in the 1950s in the provinces of Como and Varese to infiltrating the legal economy today. Key sectors mentioned include construction, commerce, logistics, and public service contracts, as well as recent speculations involving post-Covid funds and the Superbonus scheme.
