The Japanese male idol group Naniwa Danshi has released a series of Halloween costume photos through their official Instagram account as part of their “Naniwa Halloween 2026” project. The members have chosen various characters from popular anime, manga, and films.

Individual costumes include:

• Kento Nagao as Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke. • Daigo Nishihata as Ukyo Saionji from Dr. STONE. • Kyohei Takahashi as Dabi from My Hero Academia. • Kazuya Ohashi recreating the painting “First Sermon” by John Everett Millais. • Shunsuke Michieda as Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle. • Ryusei Onishi as Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler. • Joichiro Fujiwara as Elsa from Frozen.

Ryusei Onishi’s portrayal of Ciel Phantomhive drew specific praise from the original manga creator, Yana Toboso, on social media. Fans have widely commented on the high quality and accuracy of the transformations, particularly noting Michieda’s resemblance to Howl.
