Naniwa Konbu to host dashi workshop in Kobe

Shinki Bus Co., Ltd. is partnering with Naniwa Konbu, a business with 65 years of history, to host the ‘Adult Dashi Workshop’ in Kobe’s Higashinada Ward. The event is scheduled for September 26, October 17, and October 27, 2026.

Participants will engage in a three-hour experience that includes learning the basics of kelp, tasting various dashi (broth) made from natural Ma-konbu, and cooking dishes using the broth. The workshop also features a warehouse tour and a meal consisting of seasonal rice and tsukudani.

Led by Naniwa Konbu’s CEO Keiichi Kohama and Yoko Kohama, the small-group sessions aim to encourage people to incorporate the ritual of making dashi into their daily lives, similar to brewing coffee or tea.
