Nansen opens office in Bhutan to develop AI and blockchain talent
Nansen, a global blockchain data and artificial intelligence company, has formally opened an office in Thimphu, Bhutan. Located at the Bhutan Youth Development Fund’s Nazhoen Pelri Complex, the new office serves as an initial operational base as the company prepares for a long-term presence in the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).
Group CEO Alex Svanevik led the opening, noting that the company aims to become a leading employer in Bhutan’s private sector. Nansen has already recruited four Bhutanese employees and launched the Nansen AI Talent Programme to identify and develop local expertise in emerging technologies. The programme currently includes three interns who may be offered permanent roles.
Future recruitment is expected to expand into technical fields, including data science, machine learning, AI, and cybersecurity, as well as customer support and compliance. The move is part of a broader international expansion strategy to integrate local talent with Nansen’s global workforce.
