Nantes court rejects Brico Dépôt appeal over Weldom project

The Nantes Administrative Court of Appeal has rejected an appeal filed by Brico Dépôt against a building permit issued for a new Weldom store, a coworking space, and a gym in Montreuil-Juigné (Maine-et-Loire).

The project, led by the company Jerap and associated with the Mulliez Group, is intended to occupy the former sites of Constellium. Brico Dépôt had previously challenged the favorable opinion from the National Commission for Commercial Development (CNAC), arguing that the project's catchment area would negatively impact its own operations, noting that 13.7% of its turnover is generated within that specific zone.

In its ruling, the court noted the dynamic demographic context of Montreuil-Juigné, highlighting a population growth of nearly 10% between 2011 and 2021, which supports the development.
