Nantes public transport disrupted by student protests

Public transportation in Nantes is facing significant disruptions on Thursday, October 8, 2026, due to student protests. High school students are marching to demand increased resources, with the demonstration scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM from the Miroir d’eau.

In response to the gathering, the Semitan transport operator has implemented several service changes across the Naolib network. Tramway Line 1 will be suspended between Commerce and Duchesse Anne starting at 9:30 AM. Line 3 will be interrupted between Bretagne and Hôtel Dieu, while Line 2 will terminate at Hôtel Dieu, bypassing the section between Commerce and Orvault Grand Val.

Bus and Busway services are also heavily affected. The Line 4 Busway will be cut between Foch-Cathédrale and either Duchesse Anne or Jemmapes, depending on the movement of the crowd. Various other bus lines, including C1, C2, C3, C6, C8, 11, 12, and 23, will face diversions or temporary termini at locations such as Copernic, Talensac, and Delorme. The Commerce mobility space will remain closed for the day.
