Nantou communities win record three national excellence awards

Three communities in Nantou County have achieved a historic milestone by winning the performance excellence award in the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s 115th Golden Excellence Community selection. The winning locations are the Zhongyang Community in Zhushan Township, the Beitou Community in Caotun Township, and the Liangshan Community in Puli Township.

This marks the first time since the national community evaluation system began in 2011 that a single county has secured three performance excellence awards in a single session. Out of only ten such awards granted nationwide, Nantou claimed three.

The Zhongyang Community was recognized for its integrated elderly care, including health promotion and a digital volunteer management system. The Beitou Community focused on digital literacy, youth companionship, and preserving local cultural heritage. The Liangshan Community was honored for its resilient welfare systems, integrating elderly care with disaster prevention and intergenerational cultural preservation.
