Nantou County Government launches youth exchange workshops

The Nantou County Government has launched a ‘Youth Exchange Workshop’ initiative to better understand the needs, employment concerns, and development expectations of young people living in the region. The program aims to move beyond government-led policy by creating an open space for direct dialogue between officials and the youth.

The first workshop, held on August 23 in Nantou City, focused on public issue observation and policy thinking. The event featured Professor Chen Wen-hsu from the Department of Public Administration and Policy at National Chi Nan University, who guided participants on how public issues form and how policies respond to social needs.

Through group discussions and expert feedback, the government intends to transform personal observations from participants into concrete policy suggestions. The Social and Labor Bureau stated that these discussions will serve as a reference for reviewing future youth policies. A second workshop is planned, and the results from both sessions will be compiled into a report by the end of the year to inform local governance and public participation mechanisms.
