Nantou County hosts bicycle tour and longan festival in Zhongliao
Nantou County recently hosted two major cultural and agricultural events in Zhongliao Township. The '2026 Nantou Tourism 100K Bicycle Town Roaming' series held its sixth session, the 'Zhongliao Secret Realm Blessing Exploration,' which saw hundreds of cyclists depart from Shilong Temple. The 36-kilometer route traverses local landmarks including Longfeng Waterfall and Tianyingling Observation Deck to promote low-carbon tourism and local faith.
Simultaneously, the 22nd Zhongliao Longan Culture Festival commenced at the Longyanlin Leisure Agriculture Area. The festival aims to promote the region's longan industry, which accounts for over 60% of Nantou's cultivation area with an annual yield of approximately 1.7 million kilograms. The event features traditional longan kiln ceremonies, agricultural product sales, and cultural performances to boost local economic value and rural tourism.
