Nantou County launches arts and dance initiatives for students

Nantou County has introduced two major programs aimed at enhancing arts and cultural education for local students.

The 2026 Nantou County Magistrate Cup ‘Dancing Youth’ K-POP Dance Competition recently concluded, featuring 34 teams. Organized by the Nantou County Service Altruism Promotion Association, the event combined dance with social awareness campaigns against drugs, fraud, and internet addiction. Wu Jian-zong, chairman of the MORINÉ International Fashion Gala, announced that top-performing teams will be invited to perform at the MORINÉ Global Star International Fashion Festival Taiwan Selection in November 2026 to provide international exposure.

Simultaneously, the Nantou County Government and the Yanyan Cultural and Educational Foundation launched the ‘2026 Nantou County Art Spot – Campus Arts Dream Project.’ This initiative involves an alliance of eight elementary schools, including Zhangxing, Shuangwen, and Jiji, to bring diverse artistic resources to rural areas. The program includes a world picture book and illustration exhibition, e-School digital teaching materials, art exploration field trips to major museums, and physical development courses led by faculty from the Taipei National University of the Arts.
