Nantou County launches digital booking for Taiwan Tourist Shuttle

The Nantou County Government has launched a new digital service for the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle to enhance travel convenience in the region. Three major routes—the 6883 Xitou Line (departing from Taichung), the 6801 Sun Moon Lake-Xitou Line, and the 6653C Beigang Creek Line—now support online reservation and ticket purchasing.

Travelers can use computers, tablets, or smartphones to select travel dates, shifts, and the number of tickets. Once payment is completed, passengers receive an electronic QR code. On the day of travel, they can simply scan the code using on-board ticket validators, eliminating the need for on-site purchases or paper tickets.

The routes connect several popular destinations, including the Xitou Natural Education Area, Sun Moon Lake, and various hot spring and cultural sites along the Beigang Creek Line. Reservations can be made through platforms such as ‘Nantou Hao Hao Wan’, ‘Nantou Holiday’, and ‘Lion Travel’, with the Xitou and Sun Moon Lake lines also available via the ‘Yuanlin Bus’ website.
