Naoki Hamaguchi provides updates on Final Fantasy VII Revelation

During Paris Games Week, director Naoki Hamaguchi provided a world premiere presentation for Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The upcoming title will allow players to explore the city of Midgar from a new perspective, specifically investigating the depths of the city following a large fissure opened during the events of the previous game. This exploration may link to elements from Dirge of Cerberus.

Hamaguchi also addressed the creative process behind the Remake series, stating that the core narrative arc was established at the project's inception. He emphasized that the team did not alter the central story based on player reactions, aiming to avoid turning the original masterpiece into a “personal fan project.” He noted that while the team introduced new interpretations, they worked closely with the original creators to ensure the project remained true to the Final Fantasy 7 identity.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for release in 2027, serving as the conclusion to the trilogy.
