Naoko Nisikaoua-Anagnostou bridges Greece and Japan through cuisine

Naoko Nisikaoua-Anagnostou, a Japanese blogger and author, is bridging Greek and Japanese cultures through culinary traditions. Having discovered Greek flavors during her student years in London, she has since authored three books in Japanese dedicated to Greek cuisine.

Highlighting similarities between the two nations, Nisikaoua-Anagnostou notes that both cultures share an appreciation for seasonal products, simplicity, and the consumption of wild greens. With Japan serving as the guest of honor at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, she has released a new book focused on Greek mezes.

She recommends that Japanese visitors to Greece experience wild greens, pies, and goat meat. She also expressed a fondness for traditional dishes such as gemista (stuffed vegetables) and dolmades.
