Naomi Watts to play Nazi camp guard in new film ‘The Housewife’

Actress Naomi Watts is taking on a challenging new role in the Ben Shirinian-directed drama film, ‘The Housewife’. In the film, Watts portrays Hermine Ryan, a housewife who conceals her history as a Nazi concentration camp guard.

Watts described the experience of playing such a complex and dark character as entering her ‘villain era’. She noted the difficulty of portraying such an ‘ugly and horrific’ character while attempting to maintain authenticity and honor the gravity of the story.
