Naomi Williams signs for Watford after eight years at Arsenal

Goalkeeper Naomi Williams has signed with Watford as a free agent following her departure from Arsenal. Williams had been part of the Arsenal setup for eight years, having joined the club at the age of 13.

During her tenure in north London, Williams was part of a highly competitive squad that reached the Champions League semi-finals and won the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup. However, she remained fourth in the goalkeeping pecking order behind Daphne van Domselaar, Annieke Borbe, and Barbora Votikova. While she did not make a senior competitive appearance for Arsenal, she did feature in a friendly against an Australia All Stars XI in Sydney.

The move to Watford provides Williams with an opportunity to establish herself as a first-team goalkeeper after closing a significant chapter of her professional development at Arsenal.
