Naoto Kaiho stars in new musical about inventor Nikola Tesla

Actor Naoto Kaiho, alongside cast members Narikawa, Megumi Hamada, and Natsumi Kon, attended a rehearsal press conference in Tokyo for the new original musical ‘Nikola Tesla: The Solitary Genius Feared by Edison’. Produced by HoriPro, the production explores the life of the 19th and 20th-century inventor known for his work on alternating current.

Kaiho described the production as a ‘journey of emotions’ rather than a standard biography, aiming to resonate with modern audiences through themes of communication struggles. The cast noted the intense creative process required to bring the new work to life. The musical is scheduled for a Tokyo run at Kinokuniya Hall from September 6 to 29, followed by performances in Osaka at the Umeda Arts Theater in early October.
