Naoussa signs €1.5 million contract for city center redevelopment

The Municipality of Naoussa has signed a contract for a €1.5 million urban redevelopment project aimed at upgrading the city center. The contract was signed on August 25, 2026, between Mayor Nikos Koutsogiannis and the contractor, Fassias Construction.

The project focuses on the functional and aesthetic renovation of Karatsou Square. Its primary objective is to create a comprehensive pedestrian network, complementing the previously implemented ‘Open Trade Center’ project. The initiative is 100% funded by the ESPA program of the Central Macedonia Region.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the first ten days of October 2026, with an estimated completion timeframe of 16 months. Local authorities stated that the project aims to improve safety, functionality, and aesthetics, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors while boosting development prospects for the city center.
