Naoya Inoue’s New Book Reveals Family Fight Secrets as Experts Debate Featherweight Future

Japanese trainer Shingo Inoue, father of world‑champion brothers Naoya Inoue and Takuma Inoue, released a new book titled “拳闘魂 井上尚弥・拓真の闘い”. The volume covers 18 selected bouts from the brothers’ careers, offering behind‑the‑scenes insights and personal reflections. Naoya contributed a handwritten message to the book’s cover, expressing his desire to keep getting stronger.

Former world‑champion commentators, including Katsuo Watanabe, Shinji Takehara and Takashi Hatayama, discussed Naoya’s next steps on a YouTube panel. They noted that the champion’s father may want him to retire soon, and that the limited time left makes a feather‑weight unification campaign difficult. The panel suggested a longer rest period before attempting a move to feather‑weight, emphasizing the physical toll of recent fights.
