Naoya Masuda honored for 250 saves and 800 appearances
Chiba Lotte Marines pitcher Naoya Masuda was honored in a ceremony held before a game against the Orix Buffaloes on September 23, celebrating his career milestones of 250 saves and 800 appearances.
To commemorate the achievement, the Lotte Group presented Masuda with a commemorative trip to South Korea for him and his family, as well as a special 15-design collection titled ‘Masuda no March’ that reflects on his career path. Masuda expressed his gratitude, noting that the commemorative items brought back many memories of his journey to 250 saves.
The ceremony also featured a surprise video message from former Marines player Leoness Martin, who played for the team until 2022. The appearance of the former fan favorite drew significant emotional reactions from supporters in attendance and on social media.
