NAPA launches digital checklist tool for maritime operations

Maritime software provider NAPA has launched NAPA Checklist, a digital tool designed to replace paper and PDF-based onboard operational workflows. Co-developed with HX Expeditions, the product is currently being rolled out across the operator’s expedition cruise fleet.

The tool provides a guided digital workflow that walks crew members through procedures in a specific sequence. It automatically records actions with timestamps and user identification, feeding data directly into NAPA Logbook to eliminate duplicate entries. The system includes a mobile-first app for onboard use and a Checklist Editor for shore-based teams to manage templates via NAPA Fleet Intelligence.

NAPA aims to address cognitive overload and procedural errors in the maritime industry. According to data cited by the company, human elements are present in 78.8% of investigated casualties, with nearly half of corrective actions relating to procedural errors such as missed or out-of-order steps.
