Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury forecasts 2027 album release

Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury has indicated that the band’s seventeenth studio album may not be released until late 2027. The delay is attributed to the band's current touring schedule.

Recording sessions are currently underway at Parlour Studios in Kettering, United Kingdom, with longtime producer Russ Russell. Embury described the current state of the music as the ‘bare bones,’ noting that he has already recorded the guitar and bass tracks. Drummer Danny Herrera has been given creative freedom to adapt his percussion to these recordings.

Frontman Barney Greenway is expected to begin writing lyrics during the band's upcoming tour in November. Embury also mentioned that the new material may vary in style, potentially including much longer tracks, such as a 12 or 13-minute composition inspired by fan feedback.
