Naples Airport to close in November for runway renovation
Naples Capodichino Airport will be completely closed from November 1 to November 30 to facilitate the renovation of its only runway. The closure was agreed upon by the aviation authority Enac and airport operator Gesac.
Major airlines are adjusting their schedules accordingly. The Lufthansa Group has canceled all its flights to Naples for the month. Passengers traveling from Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, or Zurich may be automatically rebooked to Rome-Fiumicino, with the group covering some costs for alternative bus or train travel to Naples.
Eurowings is diverting its connections from Stuttgart and Düsseldorf to Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi, located approximately 61 kilometers from Naples. Ita Airways is also partially diverting Milan-Linate flights to Salerno, while providing a bus service for connections to Rome-Fiumicino. Other carriers, including Easyjet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, and Volotea, are largely suspending their Naples operations during this period.
