Naples authorities shut down unauthorized service hub near Poggioreale prison

Authorities in Naples have shut down an unauthorized business operating near the Poggioreale prison. The establishment, which functioned as a service hub for families of inmates, was found to be operating without the necessary permits for food and beverage service and was being used as a residence rather than a commercial space.

Carabinieri investigations revealed that the business had built a specialized network for visitors, offering services such as preparing and weighing packages, storing bags and backpacks, and providing temporary mobile phone storage. The latter service allowed visitors to leave smartphones in custody during visits when mobile devices are prohibited inside the facility. The operation faced over 7,000 euros in sanctions.
