42‑year‑old arrested for illegal transport of 15 quintals of construction waste in Catanzaro
Carabinieri of the Sellia Marina company, together with the Forestal Unit of Sersale, stopped a truck on the SS 106 on 30 June 2026. The vehicle, driven by a 42‑year‑old man, was loaded with roughly 15 quintals of inert construction debris – cement, rubble and calcinacci – from a local demolition site.
The load lacked the mandatory Waste Identification Forms and the driver was not registered in the National Register of Waste Managers. The authorities seized the truck and the one‑and‑a‑half‑ton cargo and filed a complaint for illegal transport of building waste with the Catanzaro prosecutor’s office.
The operation is part of a broader monitoring effort by the Catanzaro provincial command to curb waste‑related crimes and protect public health.
