Naples fishmonger attacked with key over clam prices
A dispute over the price of clams escalated into a violent physical assault at the fishmongery of Peppe Di Napoli, a well-known merchant and social media personality, in the Pianura district of Naples.
The altercation reportedly began when a customer contested the price of clams, which were being sold at 30 euros per kilogram. During the heated verbal exchange, a man intervened and struck Di Napoli in the neck area with a key. The attack, which was captured by the shop's surveillance cameras, caused bleeding and significant alarm among those present, including the merchant's children.
Di Napoli was transported to San Paolo Hospital, where medical examinations revealed a minor head trauma along with abrasions and contusions in the right lateral cervical and subclavicular regions. Doctors have issued a five-day recovery prognosis. Law enforcement officials have acquired the surveillance footage to assist in identifying the assailant.
