Naples hosts discussions on digital healthcare and digital wellbeing

Discussions in Naples have focused on the evolution of healthcare through digital transformation and the psychological impacts of technology. At the Napoli Bees Square 2026, experts analyzed the ‘post-digital’ healthcare model, specifically examining the Campania Region’s approach to integrating technological infrastructure, governance, and professional skills.

The symposium highlighted telemedicine as a vital tool for connecting patients, professionals, and information, aiming to simplify administrative processes and improve service interoperability. The goal is to identify scalable practices for national and European healthcare contexts.

Complementing the institutional focus on digital health, the presentation of Paolo Siani’s book, ‘Benessere digitale’ (Digital Wellbeing), addressed the social and psychological consequences of technology. The discussion centered on how early and uncontrolled smartphone use affects the cognitive and emotional development of children and adolescents. Rather than demonizing technology, the work advocates for a balanced ‘digital diet’ to mitigate risks such as sleep disturbances and digital addiction, promoting healthier relationships between families, schools, and the digital environment.
