Naples hosts Marino Mazzacurati exhibition at Maschio Angioino

The exhibition ‘Arte e Resistenza a Napoli’ opens at the Fondazione Valenzi within the Maschio Angioino in Naples. The showcase reconstructs the creative process of sculptor Marino Mazzacurati, specifically focusing on his development of the ‘Monumento alle Quattro Giornate’, which was conceived in the 1960s and inaugurated in 1969 in Piazza della Repubblica.

Visitors can view preparatory sketches in plaster and bronze, as well as drawings and studies. The exhibition also includes other works by Mazzacurati, such as pieces dedicated to horses and dancers, which highlight his exploration of movement and physical tension. Additionally, the collection features photographs from the Parisio-Troncone Photographic Archive documenting the Neapolitan Resistance.

The exhibition will remain open until November 14, 2026, with visiting hours from Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 17:00, excluding holidays.
