Italy hosts forums on Blue Economy and renewable energy transition

Various sustainability and energy forums have taken place across Italy, focusing on the Blue Economy, renewable energy, and regional transitions.

In Naples, the tenth edition of the Innovation and Sustainability Forum and the third Blue Green Economy Award ceremony were held at the Teatro Salone Margherita. Organized by the Associazione For Human Community, these events addressed sustainable innovation, territory valorization, and the relationship between businesses and institutions. The Blue Green Economy Award recognized organizations for their environmental, social, and economic initiatives, with the 'Trifoglio d’Oro' awarded to nine organizations, including Fastweb Digital Academy and Crocco S.p.A.

Additionally, the Port of Naples served as a hub for discussions led by Gruppo Lauro and NAStartUp. These meetings explored the potential of the Blue Economy, specifically looking at connections between the ports of Naples and Genoa to foster startups, maritime tourism, and professional training.

In Catania, Environment Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin participated in a dialogue regarding sustainable nuclear energy and the expansion of renewable resources. The discussions, held in collaboration with Unioncamere, emphasized the government's long-term energy planning and the importance of mobilizing expertise to meet national energy goals.

In Tuscany, a conference titled ‘Energy Communities for a truly green future’ was presented to discuss how businesses can become protagonists in the energy transition through renewable energy sharing and cost savings.
