Naples integration centre turned illegal dump, 20 occupants seized
Carabinieri of the Bagnoli company, together with local police, municipal social services, Enel technicians and ASIA staff, inspected the “Grazia Deledda” centre on Via Cassiodoro in Napoli. The inspection revealed the building had become an open‑air landfill, with 11 quintals of waste removed, 450 tires stored in one block and 20 abandoned or uninsured vehicles.
Of the 48 people identified inside, 20 were occupying the centre’s apartments without legal title. The operation ended with the arrest of a man already subject to a 2013 theft conviction; he will serve four months for burglary and aggravated theft.
