Naples Maradona mural restoration awaits official unveiling

The historic mural dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona in Naples' Quartieri Spagnoli has undergone restoration, though it remains covered by a blue tarp and cordoned off ahead of its official unveiling. Despite the restrictions, international tourists and football fans continue to gather at Largo Maradona to catch glimpses of the artwork.

The official inauguration is expected within the next two to three weeks, potentially in the first half of September. The mural, located between via Emanuele De Deo and via Concordia, serves as a major cultural and economic landmark. Data indicates that the area surrounding the mural has seen a 5.5% increase in business activities, supporting a local microeconomy of guided tours, dining, and retail.
