Naples National Archaeological Museum concludes Parthenope exhibition

The exhibition ‘Parthenope. La Sirena e la città’ has concluded at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN). The event, which was extended to accommodate high visitor numbers, explored the mythological and historical connection between Naples and its founder, Parthenope.

The exhibition featured over 250 works loaned from more than forty national and international museums. It traced the evolution of the Siren figure from Homeric myth to a protective symbol of the Mediterranean community. Highlights included previously unseen artifacts from recent subway excavations and private collections, documenting the antiquity of the original settlement.
