Sant’Antonio Abate man arrested for kidnapping and beating partner and child

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in Sant’Antonio Abate, near Naples, for the kidnapping and assault of his 24-year-old partner and her six-year-old son. The man, who manages a B&B, allegedly held the pair captive for two days starting on August 11, driven by obsessive jealousy and unfounded suspicions of infidelity.

During the confinement, the man reportedly beat the woman with a spiked club, causing multiple bruises and abrasions. The child also sustained minor injuries during the ordeal. The victims managed to escape on the morning of August 13 when the man became distracted while driving them to purchase food and cigarettes. The woman fled the vehicle with her child, and they were subsequently assisted by her brother and taken to the Carabinieri station.

The suspect faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated personal injury, and domestic abuse. The mother and child were treated at San Leonardo Hospital and have since been transferred to a protected facility.
