Naples police investigate reported kidnapping and assault of 18-year-old Ukrainian woman
An 18-year-old Ukrainian woman residing in Pozzuoli has reported being kidnapped, drugged, and sexually assaulted by a group of eight men in an apartment near Naples Central Station. The victim, who reportedly sought refuge in a fast food restaurant bathroom before contacting authorities, was transported to Cardarelli Hospital, where medical staff assigned her a 30-day prognosis for physical and sexual assault.
The Naples Squadra Mobile is currently investigating the incident, reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects. The Ukrainian Consulate in Naples has also requested formal clarifications from Italian authorities regarding the case.
In separate criminal reports from the region, a 61-year-old man in Bitonto was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for defrauding two elderly spouses of approximately 400,000 euros. Additionally, two men in Pianura face charges following a shooting that injured a Peruvian worker, and a 50-year-old man was robbed and injured in Piazza Garibaldi.
