Naples Prefecture meets with unions over island healthcare transport

The Prefecture of Naples and labor unions have met to address transportation challenges faced by healthcare personnel working in island locations, such as Ischia. Union representatives, including Cisl Funzione Pubblica, highlighted that disruptions, cancellations, or changes in maritime connections force workers to bear significant personal costs.

These costs include increased travel expenses, parking fees, and, in some instances, the need for independent accommodation. Unions are calling for health authorities to reimburse employees for expenses incurred due to connection issues and are requesting dedicated welfare benefits, such as free maritime travel passes, to mitigate the difficulties of working in island settings.
