Naples prosecutor orders detention for man accused of ordering prison-based attack

A 20-year-old man, Carlo Di Marino, has been placed in pretrial detention following allegations that he orchestrated a double attempted murder in Marano, near Naples. Prosecutors allege that Di Marino, while already incarcerated for previous robberies, used an unauthorized phone to order a 16-year-old accomplice to attack two minors with a knife.

The motive for the attack was reportedly jealousy involving Di Marino’s former girlfriend. The victims, two cousins, sustained serious injuries from multiple stab wounds but survived the assault.
