Napoli plans player sales before new signings, eyes Zeballos move

Serie A club Napoli has announced a clear market strategy: sell players before targeting new acquisitions. President Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna said the roster is already complete and any purchases will hinge on departures. Potential exits include striker Romelu Lukaku, valued around €10 million, midfielder Frank Anguissa, for at least €15 million, and defender Mathias Olivera, among others.

The club is also nearing a deal for Boca Juniors winger Exequiel Zeballos. After a stalled January attempt, negotiations have resumed with a reduced fee of €9‑10 million, down from the earlier €15‑16 million ask. Napoli’s hierarchy, backed by former player‑coach Antonio Conte and manager Massimiliano Allegri, view Zeballos as a versatile attacking option that could complement Alisson Santos.

Former Napoli defender Marco Zamboni and actor‑commentator Arturo Muselli, speaking on local radio programmes, discussed the broader transfer outlook. Zamboni stressed the importance of retaining Anguissa, while Muselli highlighted Lukaku’s limited role after injury and praised Kevin De Bruyne’s form. Both urged a cautious approach until head coach Allegri finalises his plans.
