Naples: Student in critical condition after hit-and-run

A 24-year-old student from Lecce is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Naples. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM on September 4, 2026, in via Anton Dohrn near the city's seafront.

The victim was crossing the road with a group of friends toward Villa Comunale when she was hit by a vehicle traveling at high speed toward Piazza della Repubblica. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene without providing assistance.

Emergency medical services stabilized the woman at the scene before transporting her to the Ospedale del Mare, where her prognosis remains guarded. Local police investigators are currently reviewing public and private surveillance footage to identify the vehicle and the driver responsible.
